Promotional items, apparel & awards
Using the ASU logo and trademarks on product
The ASU name, logos, trademarks, and other branded graphics are protected and must be used in accordance with university branding and licensing requirements.
Important: An approved vendor in SunMart is not automatically an approved ASU licensed vendor for producing items with the ASU name, logo, or trademarks.
Before ordering any item that includes an ASU mark, logo, wordmark, or university name:
- Verify that the supplier is an ASU licensed vendor.
- Follow the ASU Brand Guide for the proper use of logos, colors, fonts, and wordmarks.
- Obtain any required approvals before placing your order.
For additional information, contact Trademark and Licensing or visit the university’s Trademark and Licensing website.

If you are organizing or attending an event and need large quantities of promotional items, contact the Engineering Communications Team to discuss options that fit your budget, timeline, and branding needs by submitting a Project Request Form.
T-Shirts and Apparel
If university funds will be used to purchase T-shirts, polo shirts, or other apparel, you must use one of the university’s contracted apparel vendors.
When ordering apparel, consider:
- Shirt style (T-shirt, polo, sweatshirt, etc.)
- Fabric type
- Ink or embroidery requirements
- Size range
- Quantity
- Delivery timeline
Always verify that the vendor is both:
- An approved university supplier, and
- An ASU licensed vendor if the apparel includes an ASU logo or trademark.
Fulton Merchandise
For smaller quantities of Fulton Schools of Engineering merchandise, consider:
- The ASU Bookstore (Tempe campus)
- Sun Devil Marketplace at HLMK
The Engineering Dean’s Office also maintains a limited inventory of Engineering promotional items. Some items are available at no charge, while others may be purchased at cost.

Best Practices
- Begin planning promotional items and awards 6–8 weeks before your event to allow time for design, approvals, production, and shipping.
- Always confirm that vendors are licensed to reproduce ASU trademarks before placing an order.
- Order a small number of extra promotional items for last-minute attendees or VIP guests.
- Proofread all names, titles, dates, and logos before approving production.
- Inspect awards and promotional items upon delivery to ensure they are accurate and free of defects before event day.
